Our Team

Every product is the result of passion and dedication. The eight independent farmers of Frescalpin bring their expertise and deep connection to nature to guarantee the highest quality – from the farm straight to your table.

Our Story

Frescalpin was born from a shared vision: eight farmers from the Upper Isarco Valley, united by their passion for nature and their desire for independence, created a cooperative dedicated to producing high-quality dairy products.

For over 20 years, our goal has been to combine tradition and innovation to ensure not only excellent products but also economic stability for farming families and the sustainability of local agriculture.

Our Values: True Quality Starts with Authentic Values

Reliability:

We ensure complete traceability, from animal feed to the final product.

Authenticity:

Our dairy products are crafted using traditional methods. Our roots are in the land, and you can taste it.

Origin:

Our products come directly from the Alps – every bite captures the authentic flavor of South Tyrol.

Animal Welfare:

Our cows live in optimal conditions, which is reflected in the quality of our milk.

Sustainable Feeding:

Our animals receive only high-quality feed, respectful of the environment and their health.

Sustainability

We think about the future and believe in environmental responsibility. That’s why we collaborate with the Biogas Wipptal plant, helping to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions in dairy production.

Our commitment also focuses on reducing harmful emissions and protecting water resources. We continuously improve our processes to further minimize environmental impact.

At Oberholz-Hof in Val di Vizze, I live with my sister Waltraud, her daughter Maria, and my nephew Fabian, who helps us a lot with farm work.

I handle milking and feeding of the 25 dairy cows. Waltraud manages sheep farming. Fabian is responsible for hay harvesting and lends a hand wherever needed.

We are highly motivated to continue running the farm.

I manage the Unteranger-Hof farm in Val di Vizze, at nearly 1,500 meters altitude, together with my wife Angelika and our five children, who play an essential role in farm life.

In summer, we care for 100 hectares of alpine pastures with sheep, goats, and about 70 young cattle. Our 70 dairy cows are fed with forage produced on about 30 hectares of land, partly owned and partly leased. Around 30% of the land is very steep and must be worked manually.

The Gugges-farm is managed by me and my two adult sons, Patrick and Günther. Forage production takes place on 18 hectares of meadows near the farm and another 23 hectares of leased land in the surrounding area. Corn and alfalfa are grown on a farm in Verona, partly owned and partly leased by us.

Patrick is responsible for the machinery fleet and forage harvesting. Günther takes care of the livestock, animal welfare, breeding, and milk production. Two full-time employees support the farm’s activities. Depending on the season, other family members also help with daily tasks.

Producing food responsibly for the environment and with respect for animals.

At Pretz-Hof in Val di Vizze, I live with my wife Erika and our four children Simon, Lena, Sarah, and Maia. We have 14 dairy cows and manage about 6 hectares of meadows.

Simon takes care of the barn, hay harvesting, and machinery maintenance. Erika and the girls mainly help during haymaking.

At Samer-Hof in Val di Vizze, I live with my partner Barbara, our son Manuel, and our 45 dairy cows. I have worked on the family farm since childhood alongside my father.

After my father’s accident in 2001, I had to choose: find another job or continue farming. I chose the latter and never regretted it. I built a modern, spacious barn where cows can move freely and graze from April to November.

Raised in agriculture.

The Pircher-farm is located at 1,460 meters above sea level in Val di Vizze. The farm includes 6 hectares of meadows, 50 hectares of forest, an alpine pasture, and various grazing areas. We host 25 dairy cows and 15 young cattle in a free-stall barn. In summer, the animals spend the warm months grazing outdoors.

We collaborate with farmers in the Po Valley through a network agreement: manure and slurry are sent to the Biogas Wipptal plant, while the digestate needed for fertilization returns to our fields.

I currently manage the farm with my children Leopold, Franz, and Katharina, who help with stable work, fields, forests, and seasonal transhumance, alongside their school commitments. My brothers also lend a hand.

Better to be honest and not please everyone than to be fake just to be accepted.

I live with my wife Martina and our children Hannah and Philipp at Boarer-Hof in Val di Vizze.

I personally take care of the 30 dairy cows. For fieldwork and hay harvesting, Martina and a contractor assist me.

The well-being of the animals and the preservation of nature are very important to us.

In the 1980s, I took over Schwitzer-Hof in Val di Vizze from my father. Today, my wife Margareth and our three children – Martina, Michael, and Evelyn – help manage the farm. Our farm includes 20 dairy cows.
Always forward with joy.
